ATLANTA, NOVEMBER 27, 2013 – OxBlue, a leading producer of construction time-lapse movies, recently contributed construction camera services to Canstruction Atlanta.
Canstruction is an international charity that hosts competitions and exhibitions showcasing highly creative, complex structures made entirely of canned food – all designed, constructed and paid for by teams of volunteers from the design, engineering and construction industries. Once the competing structures are complete, they are displayed to the public for a week as a giant art exhibition. At the end of the event, the canned goods are donated to local hunger-relief organizations.
Since its inception in 1992, Canstruction has become one of the largest and most consistent contributors of canned food to food banks throughout the world. Canstruction events have been held in over 150 cities worldwide, including Atlanta, and have contributed more than 21 million pounds of food to feed the hungry.
This year’s Canstruction Atlanta, held in the atrium at Colony Square in Atlanta’s Midtown, raised a total of 51,705 pounds of food while simultaneously donating $10,130 from the event to the Atlanta Community Food Bank – the best results in its 15-year history.
On November 7, the build-out day, OxBlue construction webcams were installed at strategic locations throughout the competition to record and stream live on the Internet the seven-hour process of building each structure. The finished time-lapse movies are now displayed on the OxBlue website.
In addition to the professionally produced time-lapse movies the company creates, OxBlue also provides automatically generated time-lapse footage which is available through the construction camera interface, throughout the project.
