OxBlue Announces New Image Analysis Features Powered By Artificial Intelligence
OxBlue recently introduced its new artificial intelligence (AI) powered image review features, including Activity Analysis, Safety Analysis and more. These tools are part of a push to incorporate AI into innovative services aiming to help improve transparency, efficiency and safety on construction projects.
All camera systems with the Activity Analysis features enabled will capture, interpret and analyze time-lapse images and live video streams to detect and report on job site progress within predefined work zones. It can also help project stakeholders confirm deliveries, predict weather impacts on the schedule, and anticipate possible project changes or delays. By providing clear construction data, Activity Analysis helps users make informed decisions in less time.
Similarly, new Safety Analysis features make it easier and less time-consuming to identify potential risks on site. Now, hard hat and high-visibility vest usage is tracked on our interface dashboard, seamlessly showing safety compliance levels across the site. The dashboard updates each morning, identifying risks from the day before. Clients can quickly track protective gear usage, identify training opportunities, and prevent possible liability issues. Additional features, such as Equipment Tracking and Smart Notifications are slated for release later this year.
“Project managers and owners are both looking for new ways to identify issues, track their results and gain more insight into what happens on the jobsite,” said Anthony Butler, Director of Operations at OxBlue. “With our new AI-powered features, we’re enabling teams to make decisions based on real data. Our cameras are now helping to sort and identify details that once took hours of oversight. We’re making the complex simple.”
The new offerings come after over a year of development and refinement. An early version of activity tracking features were utilized to monitor jobsite activity during the initial months of the COVID-19 pandemic. OxBlue published biweekly reports documenting activity levels with the top states for construction and comparing the data to statewide shutdowns. This gave invaluable insight into how the industry was faring during the pandemic, and was included in a Goldman-Sachs report in July 2020.
Activity Analysis and Safety Tracking are now available on Cobalt Series and Indigo Series cameras, and work best on closer range cameras (8MP or higher) in well-lit areas.
