Atlanta's West End Welcomes Soccer into Their Neighborhood
ATLANTA – SEPTEMBER 14, 2018 – OxBlue, a pioneer in construction camera technology, helps to bring soccer to the West End with Soccer in the Streets, a nonprofit focused on developing children’s talents.
OxBlue partners with Soccer in the Streets to expand StationSoccer™ into Atlanta’s West End and lets everyone stay involved and keep an eye on the project.
The second StationSoccer™ location opened on September 8 at MARTA’s West End station. The dual pitches mark the beginning of a much larger project in the Atlanta area. Soccer in the Streets and MARTA plan to construct several additional StationSoccer™ locations in the greater Atlanta area with many sites currently under consideration.
Soccer in the Streets gives underserved youths an outlet to learn leadership skills through small-group classroom sessions and on the soccer pitch. The hands-on approach lets children focus their energy and their talents into a positive outlet and use what they learn on the field to succeed in life.
The program has support from organizations across the metro area including Atlanta United, Atlanta United Foundation, MARTA, TransFormation Alliance, Musco Lighting, US Soccer Foundation, City of Atlanta Station Soccer, FieldTurf, Hot House Production, Terminus Legion, Footie Mob ATL, The Faction, and OxBlue.
“We’re proud to assist Soccer in the Streets with their ambition to give the children of Atlanta a place to develop their talents and learn skills that they will carry with them throughout their lives.” – Chandler McCormack, CEO
