Accounts Receivable ("A/R") Specialist Position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the AR functions for a large number of accounts. In this role, the Accounts Receivable Specialist systematically identifies which accounts to contact in order to determine what assistance to provide and next steps to be taken while maintaining a high level of customer service.

  • Manage AR functions including reporting and communications for a large number of accounts
  • Call 40+ clients daily to identify and resolve issues affecting AR
  • Manage key performance metrics including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
  • Resolve billing errors, generate invoices/statements, and reconcile AR account balances
  • Process credit/debit memo requests
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable with close interaction with Billing and Sales teams
  • Analyze cash and aging reports weekly for discrepancy and resolve same
  • Timely and effective communication with management regarding past due or problem accounts
  • Generate weekly and monthly A/R management reports for review
  • Meet monthly departmental goals and activity metric expectations set by management

Qualifications

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable and B2B collections
  • Accounting system knowledge
  • College level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred
  • Customer service experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to perform in stressful situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Goal driven with strong organizational and analytical skills/high level of curiosity
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to execute with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
