COMPANY SNAPSHOT:
RRPG manages a private equity fund that is building, through acquisition and development, a diversified portfolio of commercial real estate.
For locals, the jobsite was one of the most identifiable places in Perrysburg, Ohio. But while its fame would remain, River Rock Property Group’s (RRPG) construction project would transform the location into something unrecognizable.
The French Quarter Square was an opportunity for RRPG to create a mixed-use development that would revitalize the area. The plan was to turn the 12 acre lot with a dilapidated hotel into a thriving residential hub for activities, shopping and dining.
At first, the team put an OxBlue camera on site to have a convenient method for staying updated and reducing site visits. But, as construction continued, it became a tool for increased efficiency and more.
With a multi-building project on a large lot, OxBlue cameras became a way for the RRPG team to quickly scan the entire project and make adjustments as needed. Having visibility from the cameras had a clear return – with an unbiased record, the team was able to “stop wasting time with back and forths.” The images acted as a communication tool but doubled as a marketing one. Using time-lapses helped not only review week-over-week progress, but also enticed prospective tenants with insight into upcoming retail spaces.
The camera also added a layer of security to the site by being in an obvious and well-lit location. For the founder, the presence of a camera alone can be a powerful way to deter theft.

The cameras helped manage the logistics of getting stores ready for opening while other buildings were still under construction. When Raising Canes became tenants of the French Quarter Square, traffic had wrapped around the building. Using the OxBlue construction cameras, the project manager could easily see when traffic patterns needed to be adjusted to accommodate the demand. Using this data helped River Rock determine best practices for snaking traffic and keeping the remainder of the site safe.
River Rock Property Group bridged the gap between the construction process and their go-to-market strategy by using OxBlue cameras as a means for dual-sided communication. With real-time remote access, RRPG could monitor milestones while marketing their upcoming retail stores. From soliciting trendy new restaurants to ensuring traffic didn’t stop construction progress, RRPG found an efficient and effective way to monitor, manage and market their projects.
