COMPANY SNAPSHOT:
The world’s premier timber, land and forest products company
Weyerhaeuser was established more than a century ago — yet still reaching new heights. Their latest project was constructing the 19th distribution center in Texas, which would help solidify their status as a centrally-located service provider.
While the location was better for business, it came at the cost of being at a distance. As the world’s largest owner of timberlands and manufacturer of wood products, Weyerhaeuser offices were scattered across North America. When the team turned to R.C. Page Construction for general construction services, they wanted a way to keep all parties informed.
RCPC typically scheduled weekly drone flights. But this time, regional FAA airspace restrictions made the matter more complicated. Between all stakeholders, they needed another way to check in on progress, monitor weather conditions and document work.
Using OxBlue’s pan-tilt-zoom video camera helped everyone get aligned to jobsite progress in real-time. From the superintendent with RCPC to the Director of Operations at Weyerhaeuser, both organizations had clear visibility and remote access. When adverse weather conditions muddied the site, R.C. Page Construction used the livestream to review the impact, adjust the schedule and provide verification that changes were needed. For both the G.C. and Owner teams, the video feed and time-lapses served as visual aids that made communicating about changes easy.

OxBlue’s construction camera services made it straightforward for corporate owners to partner with general contractors using a single source for documentation. RCPC and Weyerhaeuser utilized OxBlue’s Sapphire PTZ video camera to capture four different views and remotely adjust angles. Through the web app, users could move the camera live, and zoom in up to 30x for detailed visuals. Clicking through time and playing recordings of the site enabled the general contractor team to navigate daily conditions, while the owner team quickly gained insight into changes.
