Motion-activated cameras give you an added layer of security
When everyone has left for the evening or the weekend, jobsites become an enigma. Without proper monitoring, it’s impossible to know what’s happened on a project until the crew returns. With newly updated motion detection features, OxBlue’s Sapphire series construction cameras provide detailed visibility after hours.
Our motion sensing cameras help add another layer of construction site security monitoring. Sapphire’s customization features allow you to define an observation area, enable motion detection when you want, set a sleep timer between alerts and choose your monitoring schedule. If our cameras sense motion during your set hours, OxBlue sends you an immediate automated email notification that includes a timestamp and a 30 -second video clip, letting you quickly determine risk levels.
Unlike other forms of motion detection, which often rely on heat, our cameras monitor the percent of pixels in the video stream. If there’s a high enough threshold of the pixels changing, you’ll get an alert. Our Sapphire series camera can notify you of disturbances from people, cars or large machinery.
OxBlue’s motion activation works best when the camera is closer to a project. Though OxBlue adjusts camera sensitivity settings to find the right balance for each site, the camera is less likely to capture movement and is more susceptible to false alerts if at a distance. Ample lighting is recommended to get the best results.
Combined with our always-on video recording, motion detection alerts make it easier to send documentation to the authorities or insurance companies in the event of trespassing or theft. While not a complete security solution, our upgraded motion detection sensors help with jobsite safety, security and your peace of mind.
Our motion detection features come free of charge with every Sapphire camera.
